A Guide to Revocation of Power of Attorney

This Revocation of Power of Attorney is for use to cancel a Power of Attorney that you have in place so that the Attorney will no longer have any authority to act on your behalf.

Clauses in this Revocation of Power of Attorney

In the first paragraph, the information in square brackets should be inserted about the Power of Attorney to be revoked, including the date that it was entered into and the names and addresses of the person giving the Power (the Principal) and the Attorneys.

Signature – as this document is a Deed it needs to be signed by the person who granted the Power of Attorney (the Principal) in front of a witness, who should not be a member of their family and who must also sign the document.
You will need to enter your name and that of the witness and then both sign the document above your signatures. You should then date the Deed on the cover page and at the top of Page 1.

Copies of the signed and witnessed Deed of Revocation document must be given to the Attorneys and any third parties who are involved in the matter. We recommend that you make copies for this purpose and keep the original somewhere safe such as a Solicitor's deeds storage facility.
