Commercial and Business Lease Agreement Templates

Commercial lease agreements are very similar in format to residential lease agreements and grant the tenant an interest in the property for a period of time. A lease agreement for commercial property will often grant considerably stronger rights to the tenant that would be the case with a residential tenancy agreement. This is because the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 applies to many types of commercial lease and gives business owners specific rights regarding the renewal of a commercial lease agreement. Our own commercial lease agreement template has a clause that enables the landlord to opt in or out of the provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act. Where the security of tenure provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act are not excluded the tenant will, subject to certain exceptions, have the right to renew the lease at the end of the original term that was detailed in the lease agreement.
