Should you find yourself in possession of a motoring ticket for speeding, parking or a speed camera that you wish to dispute, will you know how to go about it? Recently the laws in the UK have raised the price of parking fines. If you feel that you received the parking ticket in error you may want to fight it. Wrongfully issued motoring tickets do occur each year, but you may not know what to do if you are one of the people that got one.
Some motoring tickets may need to be handled by a solicitor which can be expensive, or you could get the knowledge on how to fight these motoring tickets yourself. If you decide to fight the motoring ticket on your own, will you know the appeals process or how to effectively argue your case? Will you have the knowledge of the most up to date laws or will you understand them?
Before you make a decision to fight a motoring ticket you will want to have all the answers you can. Statistics show that only one per cent of motoring tickets are ever disputed. Most people feel that it will be too time consuming to fight the ticket even if they feel it is unfair. This is generally because they don’t know what to do to make it easier.
The place to begin is by knowing the current laws and to find out the rules that parking attendants have to follow when they issue a parking ticket. Another item that may not be known to you is about the police equipment. The police have to record any checks they have made of their speed testing equipment. If these tests have not been recorded then you may be able to avoid the motoring ticket.
Some of the more common motoring tickets are for speeding, being stopped and arrested for careless or dangerous driving and not stopping to report an accident you’re involved in. The laws about mobile phone or insurance offences are clear, but if you commit an offence of this type, you can get a motoring ticket. What if you had your license banned and you didn’t properly apply for a return of that license before you drove a vehicle again? This would definitely get you a motoring ticket if you were stopped. Knowing the various offences may help you avoid a motoring ticket.
However, if you still get a motoring ticket you can either pay it because you think you don’t stand a chance or you can choose to fight it. If you fight it on your own you may want to research ways you can help yourself win. There are many websites that have guides that can give you helpful information and even template letters or documents that you would need to take into court.
The help that you can find online could save you money because you wouldn’t be hiring a solicitor to help you fight the motoring ticket. Everyone should look at their own situation where the motoring ticket is concerned before choosing an option.
