If you feel that you received a speeding or parking ticket in error you may want to challenge it. Due to recent changes to the law, the penalty fines for speeding and parking tickets have risen. Motoring tickets are sometimes issued in error so it is important to know how to challenge a ticket if you dispute its accuracy.

Before you make the decision to challenge a ticket, you will need as much information as you can get. Current statistics show that only 1% of motoring tickets are ever disputed. Most people feel that it will be too time consuming to dispute a ticket even if they feel it has been wrongly issued.

Some of the more common motoring tickets are for speeding, being stopped and arrested for careless or dangerous driving and not stopping to report an accident you have been involved in. The laws about mobile phone or insurance offences are clear, but if you commit an offence of this type you may also receive a motoring ticket. Knowing about the various offences may help you to avoid receiving a motoring ticket. The police have to record any checks they have made of their speed testing equipment. If these tests have not been recorded then you may be able to avoid the motoring ticket.

We will sson be launching a variety of motoring templates to assist with unfair penalty fines and tickets.  These cost-effective templates are currently being drafted by our team of in-house solicitors, so check back soon for an update to ensure you are not paying out unfairly.
