FAQs
We set out below the most common enquiries that we receive from visitors and customers of this site. If you have a question not covered below please email us. If a number of people ask the same question we will add it to the list below.
Q. Are you a firm of solicitors?
A. No. We are a publisher of legal information and referral websites. We do not provide legal advice. All guides, articles and news are for informational purposes only. For specific advice you must refer to one of the legal experts that we work with.
Q. Who produces the articles and guides on your website?
A. We employ a number of freelance solicitors who write content for us. Many of the law firms from our panel also write content for us. Where this is the case the content will be attributed to that party. We also work with a number of universities where law students and academics write content for us.
Q. Who produces the documents that you sell?
A. All of our documents have been created by the freelance solicitors that we contract to write the documents for us. The documents are based on templates that they use in their daily law practice and which are carefully rewritten to make them suitable for a non lawyer to complete. All legal jargon is removed and an emphasis is placed on creating a template or document that is completely written in plain English. These documents are then developed further by the law firms on our panel to make them suitable for those firms to review and amend if you choose to purchase our solicitor review document option.
Q. Do you guarantee that the document will suit my requirements and legal needs?
A. No. We cannot guarantee this. All of our documents are up to date as far as the law in the relevant sector is concerned and, can be adapted to meet most requirements. However, since we have no control over how you adapt the document we cannot provide such guarantees. If your requirements are complex then the template may need substantial customisation. We always advise that you pay to have a solicitor review your final document. You can raise issues with the solicitor and make sure the document covers all of your required needs. The solicitors that are on our referral panel will review the document for a fixed fee and a fraction of the cost of using a high street solicitor.
Q. Are you paid for referring legal cases to law firms on your panel?
A. At present we are not. We have not launched this aspect of our website yet and do not pass on case referrals at present. This aspect of our website will be launching in the near future.
