Tom and Katie Ensure That The Details of Their Divorce Remain Private

Remember Tom Cruise leaping up and down on the sofa on Oprah like some kind of child with ADHD professing his love for Katie Holmes? Anyone who says they weren’t thinking “how long will this last” at the time is a liar! We all suspected that like many a Hollywood marriage, this was yet another one heading for an unhappy ending, and, unfortunately all of us cynics were right. Katie Holmes filed for divorce on 29 June 2012.

Firstly, congratulations to Tom and Katie for managing to keep a lid on things and both keep a dignified silence in the public eye. They are, after all, parents to a six year old child who has probably had a less than normal upbringing to date anyway and, their silence in the media will certainly be a blessing to Suri when she is old enough to understand what is going on around her. Katie and Tom have made a public statement supporting each other as parents and made reference to their individual religious or spiritual beliefs.

Just two weeks after filing for divorce, Tom and Katie have managed to negotiate a settlement, thought to have happened over the weekend.
