BGT Contestant Sues Programme

An angry contestant from ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is suing the show for £2.5m after making a claim that the show humiliated her in front of thousands of people.
The former performer, ‘Emma Amelia pearl Czikai’ is hoping to receive £300,000 for hurt feelings. She is also suing for £1.25m for the loss of earnings and another £1m for compensation from the makers of the programme.
While she was performing, both male judges, Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell, hit their buzzer before the song, ‘You Raise Me Up’, had even been finished, while Amanda Holden, the third judge, stopped the song totally just after Emma had reached the chorus and was buzzed by her too.
Emma has made the claim that her audition wasn’t fairly given a good chance because she suffers with a medical condition which is called ‘cervical spine neuritis’, which gives the sufferer severe pain to the shoulder and head which had badly affected her being able to hear her own voice when singing.
The singer, who has chosen to represent herself at the trial, spoke at the pre-trial yesterday and has blamed all three of the judges for “humiliation, exploitation, barbarism and degradation”.
And along with all this she also stated that the popular ITV show was guilty of discriminating against her disability because she was given no special treatment and no adjustments had been attempted by the crew to her backing music and the volume levels on her microphone.
She has since spoken to the court and has been reported as saying that the show is out to ensure that rich people become very, very rich on the grounds that ordinary people come off the street and are humiliated, degraded, exploited with modern day barbarism.
The outcome of this pre-trial review shall show as to whether a full hearing will happen.
